OBMC and OB: Sharing is Caring in December 2021

DEC 22

OB at Odette

O.B. Montessori Center and Operation Brotherhood are living up to the spirit of “Sharing is Caring” during this month of December 2021.

OB for VizMin Relief

With the news of impending Typhoon Odette (Rai) last December 13, Operation Brotherhood sprung into action and began preparing relief packages. By December 17, the initial tranche of family hygiene or health kits, food packs (of canned goods, milk, vitamins, and clothes), pillows, blankets, comforters, and sleeping mats were picked up by the Coast Guard Civil Relations Service personnel (PCG CRS) and delivered to the Coast Guard Aviation Force for an early flight bound for Siargao last December 18.

Operation Brotherhood with volunteer students, teachers, and school personnel prepared another 500 disaster relief packages in reusable pails that contained rice, instant noodles, canned goods, instant coffee, saltine crackers, and condensed milk. With the help of PCG CRS and PCGD NCRCL 109th, the HADR packages onboard BRP Gabriela Silang set sail by 12 midnight of December 18 bound for the typhoon-hit areas of Western Visayas (Bohol, Cebu, Southern Leyte) and Northeastern Mindanao (Surigao, Dinagat, Siargao).

Work continued on December 21 for the third tranche of disaster relief packages, hygiene or health kits, bottled water, cleaning materials, linens, blankets, and bath towels for the victims of Typhoon Odette.
