A grand slam win for OBMC at the 2019 Fedex Express/JA International Trade Challenge

Hard-earned triumphs are milestones for students. The teams from OBMC Angeles and Las Pinas are joining the World Finals of the Fedex JAPI ITC Business Plan Competition in Malaysia because of the work they poured in. The students trained for days with Science, English, and ABM teachers to polish their knowledge of their scientific innovation, their delivery and overall presentation, and the business processes.

The 2019 International Trade Challenge by JA Philippines and FedEx Express (The FedEx Express/JA International Trade Challenge) is a program designed to educate and inspire young people to understand how entrepreneurship can improve the quality of their lives and communities. Together with FedEx Express, JA Philippines, Inc. is providing an opportunity for high school students to learn the advantages of a business entrepreneurship education, thus, endowing in them the possibility of becoming a global leader someday.

Out of 50 schools and over 100 entries, Marson’s Cosmetics of OB Montessori Angeles Campus, composed of Grade 9 students, Kelly Reese Martin and Julia Carelle Samson, got into the top 10 and eventually won as team 1.  Coming in as a close second is the Earth Savants product called “The Bulb”, a pimple gel of OB Las Pinas campus composed of Grade 8 and 10 students, Van Matthew De Jesus and Miguel Pocholo Catoto. Third place is the Saffron Innovators – Evenhue Hairbrush of OB Las Pinas campus composed of Grade 8 students, Ethan Ortiz Luis and Gabrielle Jagunap. The final event was held last Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City.
